When using with Happy Farmer Kitchen Composter:
Use one bag of Bokashi for each Happy Farmer Kitchen Composter. To reduce the fermentation time and create an even more powerful compost, just add 1 tablespoon of Terra powder to a two pound bag of Bokashi.
When used directly in soil:
In general, apply Happy Farmer Bokashi at a rate of 200 grams per square meter on the surface of the soil. For soils that have low fertility or little organic matter, use up to 1 kilogram per square meter. Sprinkle in house plants one or two times per month.
In a kitchen compost bucket, apply Happy Farmer Bokashi directly on top of kitchen food waste and close the lid. It is very important to cover the entire surface of food waste with Bokashi. When added, Bokashi will begin a fermentation process that will neutralize odors, increase the mineral content and prepare food waste to become high quality compost. Repeat the process, until the bucket is full.
When you use Happy Farmer Bokashi to maintain high populations of beneficial and efficient microbes in the soil, they will:
- Promote germination, flowering, fruiting, and ripening in plants
- Improve physical, chemical, and biological environments in the soil and help to eliminate soil-borne pathogens and pests
- Enhance the photosynthetic capacity of plants and ensure better germination and plant establishment
- Increase the effectiveness of organic materials as fertilizers
- Eliminate putrefactive soil that stresses plants
What are Efficient Microbes or EM?
EM is a natural, probiotic technology developed for over 25 years around the world. It is based on beneficial and effective micro organisms ("EM"). The microbes in EM are non-harmful, non-pathogenic, not-genetically-engineered or modified (non-GMO), and not-chemically-synthesized. Based on research and development activities in many countries, EM is increasingly viewed as a means of providing solutions to many problems of food production, depletion of natural resources, environmental pollution, food safety and nutrition, and human and animal health.
