Frequently Asked Questions

1 - 1 of 1

Q1: I ordered worms from you and they have arrived before my composter. What should I do with the worms until I get the compost bin?

A: The worms can last up to ten days in the packaging they arrived in. (Not the best, but they will last) Give them some water when they arrive.

If you're afraid they won't make it, you can make a temporary home for them instead. Put the worms into a plastic container about the size of a shoe box or bucket. Put some shredded black and white newsprint in the bottom that has been moistened (about the amount of a rung out sponge). This will act as food and bedding until your compost bin arrives and they can be placed into their new permanent home.

Uncle Jim's 1,000 Redworms are truly champs when it comes to your composting needs. They can turn almost any organic material into a nutrient-rich, high-grade compost that Uncle Jim calls Black Gold. A pound of Uncle Jim's Redworms can turn a pound of leaves, grass clippings, or even household garbage into a pound of top-quality, high-grade manure in only 24 hours. It's not just rotten organic debris; rather, it's actually digested worm castings that won't burn even the most delicate seedlings.

Uncle Jim's Redworms are heat- and cold-resistant and breed quickly. With proper care and feeding, they lay capsules every 30 days. Each capsule contains six or seven baby worms. These worms are perfect for any garden, compost bin or pile, or food additive. They also make excellent fish bait and attract wild birds.

Please note that worm purchases only ship out on Mondays due to the nature of the product.

Let's face it - you probably aren't the average person if you're interested in buying wholesale worms. You're obviously environmentally aware, economically savvy, and eccentrically right on target. After all, purchasing worms is not like purchasing toothpaste, toilet paper, or groceries.
