Description

The benefits of compost to the health of your garden are well known. When you use the Exaco Thermoquick 160 Gallon Wibo Recycled Plastic Compost Bin, you'll be able to reduce your trash and make your garden healthier without any hassle. The bin's simple, attractive design consists of five panels only, which makes it very easy to assemble or collapse for storing. Corner clips lock the side panels together securely, and two sets of lid "grabbers" on each panel prevent the lid from blowing open.

All parts of the Wibo are made of durable 100% recycled plastic resin, which means you won't have to worry about rusting hardware or rotting wood. The dark color of the plastic absorbs the sun's heat, creating a warm environment inside that's essential to successful composting. Multiple well-placed air slots provide proper ventilation and guarantee optimal composting conditions.

Quick access for loading and unloading is not a problem with this large compost bin. The reinforced lid opens straight up and stays in the upright position until you close it. The access doors on all four sides can be removed and placed into slots above the openings for easy access to compost materials at the base. Complete composting instructions are included to help you begin and maintain a successful composting system.

With the help of the Exaco Thermoquick 160 Gallon Wibo Recycled Plastic Compost Bin, you'll be making good use of vegetable scraps as you develop nutrient-rich fertilizer for your garden. With its smart design and subtle color, the Wibo will look great in your garden or along the side of your house. Order yours today.

This is a fine choice, especially at this price point. Assembly was easy, it is larger than we anticipated, and we are already experiencing so much less kitchen waste...it's great! The only reason I didn't give it a 5-star rating is that it felt a bit flimsy as we were moving it to its location after it was built. I'd recommend building it at the site where it will stay. Having said that, though, now that it is in its spot, it is great!

After setting up the unit, it was found to have burst apart at the interlocking seams. This after being in use for only two weeks. The design of these joints appears to be inadequate at best. My previous unit lasted twenty years, and was replace only because the plastice had deteriorated. The joints between panels was still excellent.

Comments about Exaco Thermoquick 160 Gallon Wibo Recycled Plastic Compost Bin:

Love the size but very disappointed in the quality. Plastic hinges broke upon assembly (got free replacements from the manufacturer). The plastic clips that hold the sides together pop off. The cover doesn't shut correctly. This is just a very cheaply made product that we will have to replace after less than one year.

I've had this compost for less than a year and it has come apart at the seam 4 times! I have cleaned up my compost 4 times now!! The sides split with any pressure and it all tumbles out. I assembled it correctly, but the first time I put it together a couple of the cheap clips broke! My dog loves it, because she gets to play in the compost everytime it splits open at the seam. It has been nothing but a mess and a frusturation to me! Buy one that will not split at the corners!

Assembly took about five minutes. HOWEVER, the plastic snaps that hold the hinges (for the lid) together BOTH BROKE when I tried to snap them on. I barely used any pressure and when the first one broke I was even more gentle with the second. Each broke into 4 pieces.

This compost bin seems to be perfect for the home gardener. it is easy to assemble, well-constructed and has a lid to keep the critters out. I only got it this week, so I can't comment on how it weathers over time, but I have high hopes for it!

                          Customer Q & A

Q1: I am not sure where the four black plastic clips go.

A:  The Corner clips lock the side panels together securely.  One clip is placed on each side of the compost bin.

Q2: Is the bottom open or does it have vents? I want to raise the bin 8 inches from the ground to allow air to flow in from the bottom as well to reduce need for turning the pile.

A: The bottom is open. There are vents in the side to allow air flow, so it is not necessary to raise the bin.

Q3: Do you have to turn the contents?

A: Yes, the contents need to be turned.

Q4: Which outdoor composter avoids attracting rats and has holes small enough, to keep rats out?

A: We don't have a particular composter expressly made to keep away rodents but there are things you can do to repel them. Rats and rodents do not like the smell of Bokashi, so using Bokashi as a starter will keep them away. Also they do not like moisture so keeping your compost moist will help. Another excellent way to keep them away is to plant mint next to your compost pile. This is a natural way to repel rodents as they do not like the scent of mint.
