If you live in a cooler climate, and wish you could extend your composting season, you've got to meet the Joraform 70 Gallon 270 Compost Tumbler. Composting generates heat and the different micro-organisms start working at different temperatures. The insulated design allows the temperature to rise higher than 160 degrees F, resulting in the quickest, most efficient composting of your organic kitchen waste. These warmer temperatures create a composting process so fast that fresh waste starts to break down before it even has a chance to rot or attract rodents or flies. Thanks to this insulate design, the Joraform will keep working through winter, long after many composters are in hibernation.

The Joraform is divided into two compartments. Fill one while the compost in the other side matures. Once the side you're filling is at capacity, you can empty the mature compost from the other side, and begin again. It's also rodent proof. The Joraform sits off the ground so rodents and other pests simply can't gain access to what's inside. You can mount this on wall, too. Wall mount included - you just need a few screws.

Be sure to rotate your Joraform on a regular basis. Regular mixing is necessary for successful composting. Fresh waste is brought into direct contact with decaying waste, increasing the efficiency of the composting process. Also, air gets into the mixture, providing the much-needed oxygen that's vital to the process.

Comments about Joraform 70 Gallon 270 Compost Tumbler:

I am using the 270 for a small classroom. It seems to be sturdy, and my students and I put it together. They are excited to use it, and the two bins make it very useful for continuous feed of waste. Also, the ease of turning the composter makes this very useful with them. I don't want to spend too much time on jobs at the end of the day, and a dump of waste and a quick spin is ideal. I like the idea of the insulation preserving better conditions for bacteria to compost.

I didn't buy the accelaerator, and while we are still early on in this process, it appears that it will take much more than two weeks to compost. Perhaps we'll learn to keep a better carbon/nitrogen ratio in the future, and we'll have better results.

Comments about Joraform 70 Gallon 270 Compost Tumbler:

Product was packaged well, even though the box was torn and crushed in delivery, everything was in place. Fairly easy to put together with the correct tools and another person to help. The written directions were confusing, but the picture instruction clarified assembly. It took about an hour to put together and is sturdy. We did put a few scratches on it while building it. I would imagine with use it's going to get pretty banged up, which is disappointing. Maybe a coat of car wax will help??? We haven't started to use it yet, we are waiting for some "green" to grow. It's strong, has a tight seal and spins easily. I hoping for the best garden on the block this year with all the compost we will be making.

          Service and delivery comments:

Prompt delivery, arrived on time. The box was ripped and crushed, but everything was in place, nothing was missing, scratched or dented.

Comments about Joraform 70 Gallon 270 Compost Tumbler:

Love the design and the tight fit of the doors. My old composter was getting 1 load of soil per year as I live in an area with longer winters than most. My hope is with the insulated bins I will get 2 to 4 loads per year.

Comments about Joraform 70 Gallon 270 Compost Tumbler:

[...]. I did need to replace some of the hardware but once assembled the unit is durable and attractive. Now for the good part. Within one week steam poured from the vent holes as the compost temperature increased. It is clear that this composter will work very effectively. I was disappointed with the initial setup as I felt for such a price one should not have such issues, but now I am pleased with the result and would buy the product again. I have recommended this product to family and friends.

Comments about Joraform 70 Gallon 270 Compost Tumbler:

I was excited about this product as it looked to be high quality. I'm tired of buying cheap Chinese junk so I shopped around for what I though was a product from Sweden. [...] took 1.5 hours to assemble. Open box to see "designed in Sweden, made in China". Instructions were very poor. Many parts were machined poorly. Several pieces of hardware are unusable (screw heads full of metal) and will require a trip to the hardware store to replace. Several pieces had very sharp edges from poor manufacture (both my wife and I were cut significantly during assembly. It looks like it will do the job but should cost about half as much. We shall see how the parts survive the elements. For that much money you would expect some quality control and at least be able to finish the assembly without a trip to the hardware store. Frustrating.
