Compost drum, Compost frame
A top pick for the serious gardener, the Original ComposTumbler 168 Gallon Compost Tumbler produces and stores a large quantity of compost materials to sustain a healthy garden and landscape. Because of its smart, spacious design, this heavy-duty compost tumbler can produce compost in 14 days. You simply load the composter with food scraps and other organic materials, turn the drum every day for two weeks, and then remove your finished compost and nourish your soil as needed.
First designed nearly 40 years ago, this original compost tumbler can hold up to 22.5 cubic feet of compost materials, or 168 gallons. The rotating drum is made of rust-resistant, galvanized metal with food grade plastic resin end caps. It sits 27 inches off the ground on a tubular steel frame protected by a black powder-coated finish. The gear-driven handle is easy to turn, and the drum stays securely on the frame during rotation.
The compost drum features aerator and drainage units on the door that allow fresh air to enter and excess moisture to escape so materials won't get soggy. Fresh air travels through the contained materials and flows out of the screened vents on the sides. As it does this, the air aids the decomposition process taking place in the essential heat core. The dimensions of the drum have been professionally calculated for maximum efficiency in building this heat core, which is why this compost tumbler can make compost in 14 days.
This compost tumbler is designed for serious gardeners. If you regularly accumulate five or six trash bags (up to 168 gallons) of compostable material every two weeks, then this composter is an excellent choice for you. Your garden will thank you.

Comments about PBM Group Original ComposTumbler 168 Gallon Compost Tumbler:
We had this for a few years before the entire tube section started to rust out, the screws went first. It just leaked like crazy and everywhere it leaked it rusted. We are now left with the stand, the 2 plastic ends, handle & posts with gears. I have 2 piles of compost below the stand that are several feet high and are composting away faster that the tumbler ever did.

Comments about PBM Group Original ComposTumbler 168 Gallon Compost Tumbler:
Once assembled it works great for a while. After less two years two of the screws had rusted and broken, which they quickly replaced for free. Over the last year it has all but fallen apart. The doors won't stay closed when tumbled and the stand wobbles more each time. Now that both doors are shot it is a lawn ornament. I live on less than a quarter acre and feel I used it less than the average gardener. Don't waste your money.

Comments about PBM Group Original ComposTumbler 168 Gallon Compost Tumbler:
After my son and I finished assembly, I immediately started to put material into the bin. In Arizona your material can dryout very fast. I added water to the mix and started to turn away. The bin has been able to help mix my material and after adding the water my compost is staying damp all the time. Material is cooking away can't wait for this first batch to finish.

Comments about PBM Group Original ComposTumbler 168 Gallon Compost Tumbler:
I bought this composter because a I wanted a large-capacity tumbler that was easy to turn. It worked fine for a couple of years, but for the money I paid, the quality of materials is a rip-off. Example: the screws are cheap and they rusted within a year. If I pay $500+ for a composter, I expect better than 5 cent screws. Also, the door material warped after a year or two and it gets stuck on the bottom rack, which means you have a ton of compost in the tumbler, but you are dead in the water. Also, for as big as it is, it cannot handle capacity loads, even if you use light materials such as shredded paper.

Comments about PBM Group Original ComposTumbler 168 Gallon Compost Tumbler:
If you want a compost bin that is easy to use...especially turning the compost...buy this one. It is attractive and blends in with the landscape. Don't settle for the smaller black plastic bins...they work but hard to turn.
