Composter, Stand
Recycle your yard waste using a recycled barrel! The Upcycle 55 Gallon Plastic Compost Tumbler is made from a food-grade high-density barrel we diverted from the landfill, and the stand is high-quality recycled fencing cedar so the whole kit is Earth-friendly before you even use it. Centered on the stand, the barrel turns easily while aluminum rods inside help mix and aerate the dirt, speeding up composting time by 90 percent! A plastic interior tube helps it aerate and drain for odor-free composting. The black barrel converts sunlight into warmth and holds it in even on cool nights. The easy-access lid opens at waist height for back-saving convenience. Simple assembly.
About Upcycle Products
Upcycle is the largest manufacturer of Upcycled Rain Barrels in the United States. Originally used to ship food overseas, these recycled barrels are ideal for storing rainwater. Besides saving landfill space, Upcycle's company philosophy is that nothing is thrown out. They minimize their carbon footprint through the effective use of water, CFL lighting, vehicle fuel, and heat, even collecting rainwater off their roof to use for washing barrels. The owners practice what they preach, and haven't used a drop of city water in over eight years.

Comments about Upcycle 55 Gallon Plastic Compost Tumbler:
I've had mine almost five years now, and it's worked well. I appreciate its simplicity. It holds everything from two kitchens and a greenhouse, and composts fairly quickly. I pull compost out of it twice a year. The compost can be pretty wet, but that is largely due to the nature of the materials going in. It has been mostly odor free. I haven't had a problem with stability, and the stand is fine, although I do find it hard to turn when it gets full. Now, I'm looking to replace the bin itself, not the stand, because, after four years, the side holes have enlarged. The bin rests and rotates on those holes, and the weight of the compost has stretched them out, allowing critters in.

Comments about Upcycle 55 Gallon Plastic Compost Tumbler:
The stand is shaky and breaks down in prolonged use outside. The stand should be made out of recycled plastic or galvanized steel. Hello Martha. It's not a good thing.
