The most effective method of fermenting is through anaerobic (without oxygen) fermentation. This process prepares the scraps for burial in less than half the time of conventional composting methods without any unpleasant odors.

To use the Happy Farmer Kitchen Composter:

• Simply cut food into small pieces and place into the Happy Farmer Kitchen Composter.
• In a kitchen compost bucket, apply Happy Farmer Bokashi directly on top of kitchen food waste and close the lid.
• It is very important to cover the entire surface of food waste with Bokashi. When added, Bokashi will begin a fermentation process that will neutralize odors, increase the mineral content, and prepare food waste to become high quality compost.
• Repeat the process, until the bucket is full.
• When the composter is full, let it sit, unopened, for two weeks and ferment.
• Then mix the fermented food waste with soil and let it compost for another two weeks.
